Mobile Kino Summer Camp Vol.4: Aug 11-13 2017

A weekend of outdoor cinema by a lake in the woods. Three screens, various films, live music, camping and bungalows.

You are invited to join the Mobile Kino team on our summer vacation. The Mobile Kino Summer Camp is a camping festival for outdoor cinema fans, held at a former GDR holiday camp by a lake in the woods in the Brandenburg countryside near Berlin.

The Summer Camp consists of three large outdoor cinema stages spread out across the campsite showing a selection of films including cult classics, new releases, psychedelic horrors and documentaries. Before the films, enjoy live music from great local Berlin bands.

The Summer Camp is located in the beautiful countryside near the Polish border, easily reachable by bike and train. The camp site has a lake, plenty of space for enjoying the sun, a fireplace and grill. Our camp kitchen is catered by the fantastic team from Hallesches Haus. More about food.

Ducks! – Lani Bagley and Craig Schuftan are Ducks!. Ducks! make electronic music for dreaming and dancing, influenced by Disney and disco, combining synthesiser and vocal loops with found sounds recorded on ancient cassette players. Formed in 2014, the Berlin-based Australians released their debut album ‘Ding Ding Ding’ in 2016, which was long-listed for the AMP (Australian Music Prize). The new Ducks! album ‘Nak Nak’ is out now.

I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream is a shoegaze / post-punk band from Berlin. IHNMAIMS took their band name from a dystopian science fiction short story about survivors of a nuclear war. Musical influences include The Cure and My Bloody Valentine as well as fellow Berlin bands The History of Colour TV, BraBraBra, Skiing, Adventure Team and Jolly Goods, with whom they share current or former band members.

Adventure Team are a situationist pop group that was founded in Berlin in the summer of 2015. The group draws inspiration from a broad range of interdependent fields including comic books, subcultural theory, jazz, childhood memories, experimental film, road trips, colour photography, chess and beat poetry. A soft spot in the heart of the group belongs to the myriad outsiders and freaks of pop history. Adventure Team are the three friends and collaborators Jonathan, Emile and Malte.

Dirty Mops – The Berlin-based trio Dirty Mops offers a unique synergy of sound and lyrics in each of their tracks. A band whose hunger for music constantly rages in their veins; as evident in their relationship with music that goes way back. Their tracks are a flawless mix of protopunk, garage, rock ‘n’ roll, grunge and psychedelic influences; from grooving rhythms, wild guitar solos to spoken words that latch on metaphors of life. This is a band that is mentally ready for decades ahead with their abundance in style and attitude.

Nunofyrbeeswax write and play a bunch of pop songs as raw as their hearts in a minimal set up. Former flatmates Davide and Angela met in London sometime in 2007. A few years later they met again in Berlin and started playing music as a 4-piece band (The Fingers). Later they thought that they wanted to pursue something different, perhaps something that goes beyond music itself. At that point they started Nunofyrbeeswax.

Joel Alas plays guitar and sings whimsical ballads set in Berlin. He also uses the band name Binary Sunset, and performs in duo mode with Benjamin Michael on keys.

Benjamin Michael is a piano-playing storyteller who often performs as the character Beverly, a wannabe starlet who suffers a string of personal dramas.
