Yellow Carpet Film Nights will be a place to appreciate the wonderful art of film. Every month we will explore a different theme that shines a light on the representation of social topics such as women, queer, gender and ethnicity.

Our first theme is WOMEN IN FILM. Over the month of July we will be screening four films that show how women have been represented over the generations and genres of cinema.

Have you ever thought how women have been portrayed in films? Do you think they have been portrayed fairly and equally?

Thelma & Louise
(English with German Subtitles)

Housewife Thelma (Geena Davis) joins her friend Louise (Susan Sarandon) an independent waitress, on a short fishing trip. However, their trip takes a turn for the worst and becomes a flight for the law. It was a revolutionary film in it’s time for it’s portrayal of females in film.
