Apocalypse Now presented by Arthaus 25, Mobile Kino & Studiocanal
The iconic ARTHAUS film label is celebrating 25 years of cinema releases beyond the blockbuster mainstream. As part of their celebration, ARTHAUS will be joining Mobile Kino for a series of open-air events offering you a chance to experience their extraordinary cinema catalogue on the big screen. In anticipation of their quarter-century anniversary and dedicated to the preservation of film heritage, ARTHAUS is also restoring a number of their program highlights in 4K and releasing them in cinemas as well as on Blu-ray.
Apocalypse Now – The Final Cut
This year marks the 40 year anniversary of the ARTHAUS classic Apocalypse Now. Martin Sheen stars as Army Captain Willard, a troubled man sent on a dangerous and mesmerizing odyssey into Cambodia to assassinate a renegade American colonel named Kurtz (Marlon Brando), who has succumbed to the horrors of war and barricaded himself in a remote outpost. This summer the Francis Ford Coppola masterpiece is being re-released by ARTHAUS and Mobile Kino is excited to experience the epic journey on the big screen.
This screening is taking place in the courtyard of Griessmuehle. In the unlucky case of rain we will move the screening to the inside cinema room and continue at the same time.
Please note that indoor screenings are non-smoking.
