While travelling through Berlin and exploring Kreuzberg a young Australian backpacker meets a charismatic Berliner and engages in a passionate holiday romance. Her overnight fling turns out to be much more as the drama spirals into horror with the relationship taking a dark and sinister turn.

Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland is well known for her distinct style as seen in her previous films SOMERSAULT and LORE. Shortland’s latest film offers us this same beautiful story telling and film making but also merges it with dark and thrilling elements. BERLIN SYNDROME is based on the book by Melanie Joosten and stars Teresa Palmer and Max Riemelt.

Open-Air Cinema:
This screening is taking place in the courtyard of Griessmuehle. In the unlucky case of rain we will move the screening to the inside cinema room and continue at the same time.
