Berlin Film Nights
presented by iHeartBerlin & Mobile Kino
Berlin Film Nights features a selection of Berlin made feature films, short films and TV series. The event series is a collaboration between lifestyle blog iHeartBerlin.de and the film curators of Mobile Kino.
BERLIN SYNDROME
While travelling through Berlin and exploring Kreuzberg a young Australian backpacker meets a charismatic Berliner and engages in a passionate holiday romance. The overnight fling turns out to be much more as the drama spirals into horror with the relationship taking a dark and sinister turn.
Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland is well known for her distinct style as seen in her previous films SOMERSAULT and LORE. Shortland’s latest film offers us this beautiful story telling and film making but also merges it with dark and thrilling elements. BERLIN SYNDROME is based on the book by Melanie Joosten and stars Teresa Palmer and Max Riemelt.
