Mobile Kino & Shameless Limitless present: Mistaken For Strangers
In association with Berlin party gang and event organisers, Shameless Limitless, we present the highly acclaimed Mistaken for Strangers.
On the eve of The National’s biggest tour to date, Matt Berninger, lead singer of the rock band, invites his metal-head younger brother, Tom to work for the band as a roadie, unaware of Tom’s plan to film the entire adventure.
What starts as a rock documentary soon becomes a surprisingly honest portrait of a charged relationship between two brothers, and the frustration of unfulfilled creative ambitions.
“The funniest, most meta music movie since Spinal Tap”
“One of the best documentaries about a band I’ve ever seen.”
To complete this musical filmic feast we have not one but two music video premieres from Molly Nilsson and Alex Cameron.
Molly Nilsson is a Swedish born synth-pop artist whose powerful yet vulnerable sounding vocals has been likened to that of Nico. Paired with her use of vintage electronics she summons a dark and romantic 80’s sound. Tonight we will be premiering the music video for “Máximo Says” from her upcoming album.
Aussie based band Alex Cameron fronted by percussionist and vocalist of the same name rose to notoriety as a youngster in his revered trio, Seekae. Cameron’s vocals are soft and subdued mixed in a sweet contrast with his stinging lyrics and big 80’s synths. Tonight we will be premiering the music video for TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS from the album JUMPING THE SHARK. The music video was filmed in the backroom of Neukölln’s Dschungel bar and directed by Berlin based local hero Ryan Haysom.
