Tom Tykwer president of the jury of this Year’s Berlinale is one of Germany’s most successful filmmakers and one inextricably linked with the city of Berlin, where he lives and first started in the film business.
In addition to writing, helming and often producing his own films, Tykwer typically composes their soundtracks as well. Most recently, he has moved into high-end TV, producing, co-writing and co-directing Babylon Berlin, the most expensive German-language series ever made.

Lola Rennt (Run Lola Run)

At home, Lola gets a call from her frightened boyfriend Manni who has lost a large amount of gang money he was smuggling into the country. His only chance of staying alive is if she can get replacement cash to him in twenty minutes. Lola decides to try her father at the bank where he works. But exactly how things will turn out depends crucially, almost to the second, on how she sets off on her errand.
